Aranyaka combines calung Banyumasan (a traditional bamboo ensemble) with pulse minimalism. Their premiere performance was on August 21st, 2023 in Yogyakarta. This first performance was a collaboration between Paculmas, a community of musicians dedicated to the arts of Banyumas; video art by Kyungwon Song and Zufar Kaloka; Sean Hayward, and friends.
The group is dedicated to exploring ideas about borders in time and space, and how they pertain to cultural identity. Their debut album is scheduled to release in mid-2024.
