Wayang Sampah is a performing arts and environnmental education collective, focused on creating puppet theater using recycled materials. All instruments used by Wayang Sampah are created from recycled materials as well, including plastic bottles, gas canisters, and disposed car windshields. The group was founded by Muhammad “Konde” Sulthoni in 2014.

The group has performed at numerous festivals both inside and outside of Indonesia and continues to conduct workshops on a regular basis. They were a recipient of the Galeri Indonesia Kaya creative grant in 2020 and artist in residence through the PSBK program in Yogyakarta in 2023. I acted as the primary composer and kendhang player for the group from 2020-2025.
